Joint Bagel Company was established through the close friendly connection of two neighbors and their families. Scott Keeperman & Patrick Beatty, who share similar family values, both have four children and their wives are teachers for the St. Johns County School District. After numerous years of Scott bringing Patrick delicious bagels home from work, Patrick relentlessly tried to convince Scott to open his own bagel shop in the area. Scott realized the key to doing this successfully would be going into a joint venture together. Through a collaborative effort, combining their passion and ideas Joint Bagel Co. was created.
Our mission is simple: Create an establishment that partners with local companies in order to serve fresh, quality food, combined with excellent customer service, while truly connecting with the surrounding communities.
Scott Keeperman
Scott Keeperman graduated from Flagler College with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. In the years since, he has worked in New York City in the offset printing industry as a printing plant manager in charge of twenty-five employees, owned and operated a successful Italian pizzeria restaurant, and after selling the restaurant, he has been the head baker at one of the most successful bagel shops in Jacksonville for the last four years. Mr. Keeperman has the hands-on bagel making knowledge and industry expertise to create a successful bagel shop in St. Augustine.

In addition to the real-world experiences he has gained in the restaurant industry and bagel business, Scott also knows what constitutes a legitimate, high-quality New York style bagel as a customer. Having eaten his fair share of bagels growing up in New Jersey and New York City, he is accustomed to a higher quality bagel. The type of quality and authenticity that no other bagel shop in St. Augustine offers. He is very passionate about making bagels and it shows in the quality of the product he produces. Scott is extremely excited about bringing these bagels to St. Augustine and sharing his passion for them with customers.
Patrick Beatty
Patrick Beatty began working in the hospitality industry at Eagle’s Nest, a beach resort located in Marco Island, Florida. During his nine years of employment, he worked at the pool bar as a cook, a server and, eventually, the staff and scheduling manager. Patrick moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1999 to attend the University of North Florida. Continuing to work in the hospitality and food industry, Patrick worked in a few restaurants and a retirement resort in Ponte Vedra, Florida. At Vicar’s Landing, Patrick began working as wait staff before moving to the kitchen to work as a line cook during breakfast, lunch and dinner services. In 2004, Patrick graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Business Management and Marketing.

Patrick believes in supporting the local community and strives to work with local businesses. His passion for supporting small, family-owned companies continues to thrive as he begins the venture for Joint Bagel Company. Patrick’s sense of entrepreneurship, business management, and marketing, coupled with his passion for local business partnerships, will aid in the development and future success of Joint Bagel Company.
